">le>le>le>G - March 18, 2008The Drug Prevention Resource Center and StandUP Polk, the Coalition for a Drug-Free Polk, are proud to present a special DRUGS ARE THIS CLOSE TO HOME: TOWN HALL MEETING on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at 8:00 A.M., at the Magnolia Building at the Lake Mirror Complex, to raise awareness about the insidious and devastating drug problems in our community.
The March 18th Town Hall Meeting will bring together parents, teachers, community leaders, and other concerned citizens to learn more about the troubling trend of teen prescription drug abuse. Parents: The Anti-Drug reports that more teens abuse prescription drugs and over-the-counter cough and cold medicines than any other illicit drug, except marijuana - more than cocaine, heroine, and methamphetamine combined. Over half of teens who abuse prescription pain relievers get them free from the homes of family or friends. It is important to take steps now to safeguard our teens...before it's too late!
Together we can make a difference! Please attend this important Town Hall Meeting to find out what our community can do to help increase awareness and reduce the risk of abuse of prescription drugs, alcohol, tobacco and other drugs by children:
