ATTENTION Business Owners

It is a frightening time in our country today, when war and terrorism are on our minds.  As Americans, we must be vigilant to do all we can to avert terrorism and one very real fact is that drug money finances terrorism.

We at Drug Prevention Resource Center believe that one very important element in fighting the war on drugs in America today is prevention and education of our children and our communities as a whole.  Our mission is to inform parents, teachers, business owners, community leaders, church groups and concerned citizens of Polk County of the dangers associated with the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drug-related problems.

It is our duty to be informed on the types of harmful influences that affect our children.  Although our own children may not have drug related problems now, it is just as important to recognize problems in their peers, or in other adults that have influence on them.

Speakers from Drug Prevention Resource Center are available to present a powerful and informative drug prevention message to your youth, business or community group.  We offer a comprehensive list of programs including:

  •  Drug Free Puppets Shows for Youth
  • Youth Prevention Education Classes
  • Anger Management Classes
  • "Just Say No" Rallies

Drug Prevention Resource Center also now offers "Team Awareness Training," a SAMHSA model program for workplace substance abuse prevention.  Team Awareness Training is designed to increase employee awareness of issues relating to workplace alcohol & other drug use and its consequences.  The program uses a variety of highly-interactive techniques in its six program modules, which include role play, games, group interaction, visual aids, hand-outs, paperwork and presentation.

Our agency provides a free HELP LINE with information and referrals to area drug and alcohol rehabilitation services and self-help groups for families experiencing drug or alcohol problems.  An extensive resource lending library of videos and printed materials is open to the public at the Drug Prevention Resource Center office, located at 621 South Florida Avenue, in Lakeland, FL.

Please call us at 863/802-0777 if you are interested in scheduling a presentation or if you would like further information on any of our services. We can tailor an informative prevention education program, at no charge, to your specific needs.

We look forward to hearing from you!
